Moong dal Murukku




Ingredients:-

Rice powder - 1 cup

moong dal - 1/2 cup

cumin seed - 1/2 tea spoon

White sesame seed - 1 teaspoon

powdered asafoetida - 1 pinch

Oil - for frying

water - for kneading

salt _ to taste

method:-

Pressure cook moong dal and make it smooth with a spoon. Add rice flour, cumin seeds, seasame seeds, salt and asafoetida in it and make a soft dough with adequate water and one spoon oil.

Place one handful of dough in a murukku maker and make round murukkus in small plates.

Heat enough oil in a frying pan, and add the murukkus one by one and deep fry it to golden colour.

Crispy, crunchy murukku ready.

  1. I've only heard of people using moong flour and not cooked moong dal to make moong flour murukku.

  2. I have heard that too...But this is different kind,it is soft,crispy and tastier too!
