Bread Omelette Recipe | Easy Breakfast Recipe

Simple and tasty breakfast recipe, which we can prepare in 5 minutes. This is the best breakfast recipe for kids as well as adults. 


Bread Omelette with tea

Ingredients 

Egg - 1 

Bread slices - 2

Chopped onion - 2 tbsp 

Green chilli - 1 

Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp 

Oil -2 tsp 

Salt to taste

Method 

Beat the egg with onion, green chilli, pepper powder, and salt.

Heat a tawa on medium-low heat and add 2 teaspoons of oil.

Pour the egg mixture and cook for a minute.


Place a bread slice on the egg omelette.

Cook for 30 seconds. Flip the omelette and cook the bread till golden brown. Keep the flame low to medium-low.



Once it's done remove it from the pan.

Toast one more bread slice on the tawa till golden brown with little oil or butter. 

Homemade bread omelette


Place it on the omelette and serve.

Delicious breakfast is ready. Serve with a cup of coffee or tea.

Ragi Kali Recipe | Ragi Health Benefits

Ragi / Finger millet is gluten-free and rich in calcium, iron, and fiber. Fiber-rich foods make us feel fuller for a long time because they will get digested slowly. This will help with weight loss. Calcium helps us to get strong bones and teeth and iron help to get rid of anemia.

We can prepare this simple ragi dish in 10 minutes. We can take this kali as breakfast or lunch. You can also try this instant Spicy Oats pancake for breakfast.



Ingredients

Ragi flour - 1/4 cup 

Shallots - 5 or 6 

green chilli - 1 

Curry leaves - few 

Sesame oil - 3 teaspoons 

Water - 3/4 cup

& Salt to taste 


Method

Chop the shallots, green chili & curry leaves. Instead of shallots, you can use 3 tbsp of chopped onion.

Add the ragi flour to a bowl and add 3/4 cup of water. Mix well without any lumps.

In a heavy-bottomed pan, add a tsp of oil and pour the flour mixture. 



Add salt.

Add chopped onion, green chili & curry leaves.




The batter will get thicker in 1 or 2 minutes. Cook for 2 more minutes mixing continuously. 

After 2 minutes, reduce the flame fully and add 1 or 2 spoons of oil.


Mix well and cover the pan with a lid. Cook for 5 minutes in low flame.



The kali will be cooked soft and it will not stick to your fingers.

Serve with raw onions, green chilies, or any curries.

Mutton Pepper Masala | Easy Mutton Curry Recipe

Simple mutton masala with very few ingredients. This pepper flavored mutton curry is best for idli, dosa, roti, chapati & rice also. 

For Marination... 

Mutton - 200 grams 

Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon 

Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon 

Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon 

Salt - 1/2 teaspoon 

Other Ingredients 

Onion - 2

Tomato - 1

Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tsp 

Crushed Pepper powder - 1 tsp

Oil - 3 tbsp 

Cinnamon 1 inch

Cloves - 3

Salt to taste

Method

Slice the onions and chop the tomato.

Marinate mutton with turmeric powder, chili powder, garam masala, and salt and keep aside for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, add onion, tomato, ginger-garlic paste, and 1/4 cup of water to the marinated mutton and cook for 3 whistles.

Heat oil in a pan and season with cinnamon and cloves.

Add the cooked mutton mixture. Add coriander powder, chilli powder and cook till the raw smell goes.



Finally, add the crushed pepper powder and simmer for 5 minutes in low flame.


Turn off the flame, once the masala reached the desired consistency.

 Delicious mutton pepper masala is ready!

Pesarattu Recipe | Green gram Dosa Recipe | Pachai Payaru Adai

Healthy and tasty traditional pesarattu / moong dal dosa recipe for breakfast.


Ingredients 

Green gram - 1 cup 

Boiled Rice - 1/2 cup 

Green chilies - 3 

Ginger 1 inch 

Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp

Grated coconut - 2 tbsp (optional)

Salt to taste 


Method 

Soak the green gram and rice together for at least 4 hours. 

Grind the rice and gram together with green chilies, ginger, cumin seeds, and salt. The batter should be thick like idli batter.


Add grated coconut and mix well.


Grease the tawa and make thick or thin dosas. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp sesame oil/ghee. You can add some sliced onions on top.




Serve hot with any chutney or with jaggery powder.

A very healthy breakfast recipe is ready!

Yellow Pumpkin Curry | Pumpkin Erissery | Poosanikai Kootu

This pumpkin recipe is very popular in Kerala. In this recipe, we are cooking pumpkin with black-eyed beans or cowpeas. 



Ingredients 

Black-eyed beans - 1/4 cup

Yellow pumpkin - 500 grams 

Coconut 1/4 - cup 

Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp

Turmeric powder - 1 pinch

Chili powder - 1/2 tsp

Sugar - 1/2 tsp

Salt to taste

For seasoning

Coconut oil - 3 tsp

Mustard - 1/2 tsp

Red chilies - 3

Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp 

Curry leaves - few

Method

Remove the skin and cut the pumpkins.

Dry roast black-eyed beans for 2 - 3 minutes and pressure cook for 2 whistles. 

Grind the coconut with cumin seeds and keep aside.

Heat 3 teaspoons of coconut oil and season with mustard Red chilies, asafoetida, and curry leaves.

Add pumpkin pieces. Add a pinch of turmeric and 1/4 cup of water. 

Cover and cook for 3 minutes.

The pumpkin is half cooked now. Add chili powder, ground coconut paste, and little water. Mix well and cook till the raw smell goes or for 3 to 5 minutes.



Once the pumpkin pieces cooked well, add cooked black-eyed beans.

Adjust salt and add half a teaspoon of sugar for taste. 

Mix well and cook for a minute and turn off the flame.


Delicious pumpkin cowpeas curry is ready!

Oats Pancake | Spicy Oats Adai | Weight Loss Breakfast Recipe

 

Healthy, instant pancake recipe with fiber-rich oats.10 Minute spicy oatmeal pancake with a lot of vegetables. This quantity is enough for 2 people.

Ingredients:-

Oats - 5 tbsp
Wheat flour - 2 tbsp
Besan/gram flour - 1 1/2 tbsp
Potato - 1 small 
Carrot - a small piece 
Shallots - 2 to 3 
Green chili - 1 
Curry leaves - few
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1 pinch 
Chili powder - 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida/Hing - 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste 

Method

Chop shallots and green chili into small pieces.

Grate the carrot and potato.

Add oats and flours together.

Add water and prepare a thick batter.

Rest for 5 minutes.

Add shallots, green chilies, curry leaves, and grated carrot and potato. 

Add cumin seeds, turmeric powder, chili powder, salt, and asafoetida and mix well. 
adjust the consistency by adding enough water. The batter should be thick.

Pour a ladleful of batter and spread evenly.

Sprinkle half teaspoon oil.

Flip and cook both sides till golden. 

Healthy 10-minute oats breakfast is ready!

Pepper Sambar | Traditional Sambar Recipe

Flavourful Pepper Sambar recipe from Food Crib. This traditional Milagu Sambar recipe is suitable for idli, dosa & rice. This is a simple and healthy sambar recipe without adding sambar powder & other spice powders. 

 


Ingredients

Toor dal - 1/4 cup 
Tomatoes - 2 
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
Tamarind - gooseberry size
Shallots - 6
Garlic - 4 cloves
Green chilies - 2
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp

For seasoning...

Oil - 3 tsp
Shallot - 1
Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp



Method 

Pressure cook toor dal with tomatoes, fenugreek seeds, and a pinch of turmeric powder.

Soak the tamarind and keep aside.

Cut the onion, garlic & green chilies.

Heat oil in a pan and season with a shallot, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, and asafoetida. 

Add onions, green chilies, garlic, and curry leaves. 
Saute for 2 minutes and add tamarind juice. 

Add turmeric powder & cook till the raw smell goes. 

Add cooked dal mixture. 

Adjust the consistency by adding enough water. Add salt.
 
Dry roast 1/2 teaspoon pepper & 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds and grind coarsely. 

Add the ground powder to the sambar and cook for 3 minutes. 

Finally, add 1 teaspoon of ghee and turn off the flame. 

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with idli or dosa.

How to Roast Peanuts | Salted Peanuts in 10 Minutes


In India, traditionally, we roast peanuts with sand. In that method, we will get peanuts with good aroma and taste. This recipe also gives us the same flavour and additionally the lightly salted taste. For this recipe, we need a heavy-bottomed pan and a strainer.

Ingredients

Raw peanuts - 1 cup

Table salt - 3/4 cup

Method

We are going to use table salt for roasting peanuts.

Add the salt and peanuts together. Start roasting in low flame.

Roast for 3 to 5 minutes.

You will hear popping sound at one stage. Roast the peanuts for one or two minutes and turn off the stove. 

Transfer the peanuts immediately from the pan with the strainer

Otherwise, it will get over-roasted.

We can reuse the salt for roasting peanuts again in the future.
