Dal fry with chana dal and moong dal


Ingredients
  • Chana dal / Split Bengal Gram - 1 cup
  • Moong dal  -1/2 cup
  • Tomato - 2
  • Onion -1
  • Green chilies - 2
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tea spoon
  • Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tea spoon
  • Curry leaves - 1 sprig
  • coriander leaves - for garnish 
  • salt to taste
Method 
  • Pressure cook the chana dal and moong dal with chopped onion, tomato, turmeric and green chilies.
  • finely chop the garlic.
  • Heat oil in a pan .
  • Add cumin seeds and allow it to splutter.
  • Add chopped garlic and curry leaves.
  • Mix half  tea spoon chili powder, and immediately pour the dal mix  in it.
  • Allow the dal mix to boil for three minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with rice or roti.
