Ingredients
- Chana dal / Split Bengal Gram - 1 cup
- Moong dal -1/2 cup
- Tomato - 2 to 3
- Onion -1
- Green chilies - 2
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Coriander leaves - for garnish
- salt to taste
- Pressure cook the chana dal and moong dal with chopped onion, tomato, turmeric, and green chilies.
- Finely chop the garlic.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add cumin seeds and allow it to splutter.
- Add chopped garlic and curry leaves.
- Add 1/2 teaspoon chili powder and roast for 10 seconds, and immediately pour the dal mixture in it.
- Allow the dal to boil for 3 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice or roti.
