Spicy Potato Fry


Ingredients Required

  • Medium sized potatoes - 3nos
  • Chili powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida powder - 1 pinch
  • salt - to taste 
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Split black gram - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - handful 
  • Coriander leaves - few sprigs
Method
  • Dice the potatoes to cubes of about 1 cm. 
  • Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seed and split black gram to it. 
  • let the mustard seeds splutter and then add the curry leaves and asafoetida. Fry for 30 seconds. 
  • Add the diced potatoes to the pan and cook on high heat for about 4-5 mins. 
  • Add the chili powder, turmeric powder and salt to the potatoes and Mix well.  
  • Cover the pan and cook in medium heat. Toss the potatoes occasionally to prevent them from sticking to the pan. 
  • Once the potatoes are completely cooked, turn off the heat. 
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
